AFDX Project
After completion of Verification activities in Q2 of 2005 several issues arose that required modification of the AFDX Library component, used on the following programs: ADIRU_Program, IHAS_Program, SEPDS_Program.
Description
What proved to be the 'deal breaker' that caused a modification to the previously reviewed and accepted baseline was the need to remove a 'hard coded' OID limit. The AFDX Library now has a configurable OID limit and several other 'issues' have also been addressed (see below). This project page covers the new releases and re-verification effort of the AFDX Library component.

| AFDX Library Limitation Discovered During Code Review Code review of the current AFDX Library certification candidate (afdx-library-4.3.0) has revealed a limitation related to the configure maximum number of SNMP OIDs to process. A memory allocation error forces the maximum number of SNMP OIDs to be limited to 37 or less. If your product is using the configuration file method to set maximum number of SNMP OIDs, insure that the value is less than or equal to 37. If you are not using the configuration file method, the default value is 10 and the software will operate properly. | All AFDX Library Users | Mike Horgan, John Kimball & Bill Cronk | The limitation has been documented in PCR:3782 | TBD | AFDX-Users E-Mail |
| Stale Output Concern: I have a concern that AFDX may continue to output stale output VLs with status values marked as valid in the event of an application abruptly halting due to an exception or some similar major event. The AFDX driver has no knowledge of data status values that are set to go with the AFDX data. These status values are treated like any other data. (We use IOI to convert the application outputs/status to the AFDX formats.) When using the IOI, it becomes a bit unclear as to how the IOI responds to IOI inputs that have gone stale. (Right now, we set the AFDX driver to always output the VL - even if some IOI values have gone stale.) | ADIRU | Wayne Schultz & Gary Kindorf | All deliverables released by 11-MAY-2006 | 01-MAY-2006 | AFDX-Users E-Mail |
| SEPDS PCI errors causing reset: When PCI errors occur as part of the AFDX Device Driver PCI Bus Scan - SEPDS goes into "fail safe" mode | SEPDS | Jayesh Lad & Bill Cronk | Bill awaiting contact from SEPDS team to investigate the PAL PCI error handler | TBD | N/A |
| Test Responder Failure: When the ES receives a 4K message in the port 50250 the RRPC command returns an empty message (0 bytes). | SEPDS | Yugandar Puppala | Toronto to try latest version of test responder and report back. | TBD | EPR 25 (Airbus generated); AFDX-Users E-Mail |
