Don't get a car. Take a cab to/form the airport (should be around $57 Canadian). A car is a major liability in downtown Toronto. Parking is non-trivial and expensive. Most Hotels charge a daily rate for parking at their facilities as well.

The Path (aka the underground) is *the* way to get around Toronto (especially during inclement weather). Definitely do this vs. the car thing.

If you want to get farther a field, the TTC (subway, trains and buses) are just fine (clean/safe enough).

ALT Software's downtown facilities are located on the North side of Richmond halfway between Church and Jarvis, (see Area Hotels).

• Comfort Suites City Centre: Mike and Bill like it. It does not show up on Google but is nice, located at Jarvis & Dundas, 3.5 blocks from ALT and has exercise facilities.
• Holiday Inn Express on Lombard Str: is only a block away from ALT, is nice enough, but does not have exercise facilities.

• Cambridge Inn & Suites: It looks *really nice* (i.e., could be too pricey, might have to share a room with two queens), is two blocks from ALT and is closer to the downtown area for a walk to dinner. It also has Path access.

• Bond Place Hotel: looks nice but (perhaps) cheaper than the Cambridge Inn & Suites. At Dundas & Bond (Bond is just east of Church), About 3 blocks from ALT, very close to the Eaton Center (a huge mall) & the Subway. It does not have on-site exercise facilities, but does provide guests free passes to excellent exercise facilities in Eaton Center.

• Korean Grill House: Awesome.
• Saravana Bhavan: This is an adventure. Good, authentic south Indian food (including breakfast :-) - but you will need all your TTC skills (and maybe a cab) to get to one of their three Toronto area locations. Yes, it is worth it.
