Mac Mini BSP Project
Provide a PowerPC based Apple Mac Mini Deos Reference Platform in support of the GRAS_Program.
Description
This reference platform will allow the GRAS team to begin intial development and integration of their software, serve as a training platform for those using Deos, and allow GRAS folks to evaluate Deos performance against GRAS requirements.
News
- 2006-04-11: From user:stephen.smith@honeywell.com - I tested out all the services (ftp, sysvstreams, status monoitor, gdb) to make sure that everything was running in relation to the boot/pal/network functionallity. This is ready to ship. This component needs the newer cygwin due to be released prior to the next training class. All work is finished on this project.
- 2006-04-10: From user:dennis.irwin@honeywell.com - The driver is now working. Testing has been done with ftp, status monitor, and telnet video streams. Some code cleanup is still needed to remove debugging kruft along with more thorough testing.
- 2006-04-08: From user:dennis.irwin@honeywell.com - Pings are now working normally. Still unable to connect to FTP. This is likely to be a problem in the registry.
- 2006-04-07: From user:stephen.smith@honeywell.com - "We finally figured out the interrupts, and so have data coming in, going up to the stack and response going back down to the driver and then to the hardware. Unfortunately, the hardware isn’t transmitting. So we have both progress and frustration on our part."
- 2006-04-04: A snag. Still having trouble getting Apple Ethernet chipset code ported to Deos. The darn thing still is not pinging.
Tasks
Note: Unless noted otherwise, all estimates are in terms of effort hours.
Strategy: The tasks below are designed to enable us to ship a PowerPC Mac mini reference platform in the upcoming DESK. Ideally, we can accomplish these tasks on or before the time the Deos training team will deploy as part of the ALT_Software_Support_Project in the third week of April, 2006. In other words this project and the AFGS_BSP_Project will help sponsor and spur us towards the next DESK release.
