If you want the thread to be low priority and slack enabled and you may want to be able to give up the CPU. The only way to do it now is waitUntilNextPeriod. Better would be an api that would allow the app to request that it be placed at the end of the slack queue at its current priority. A use for this was found when debugging sysvstream which is a pure slack app. TRACK Comments: MD20030831: Defer until after Agave certification (Slack - by definition- is a non-guaranteed service, hence no one can rely on it for safety. Any issues here are customer satisfaction and possibly backward compatibility with existing slack users. Regardless, not a safety issue. SAS classification - Enhancement MD20030807: Needs to be fixed, yet do not know how at this time. May cease to be an issue depending on other pending slack changes. Recommend hold until effects of other slack work can be seen. Independent of this, the root problem may be that network cannot throttle data being sent to it.
