PALSRD, version 7.1.0, section 3.1. General Restrictions and Guidelines, says:

"PAL functions must not reference external hardware that could cause synchronization (SYNC) interrupts to occur. This is because the occurrence of SYNC interrupts caused by the PAL could disrupt Deos' interrupt latency guarantees. One example is certain PCI bridges that generate SYNC interrupts upon a timeout when accessing a device controlled by the bridge."

The paragraph above might be able to be made more understandable to the average Deos user by describing the inherent danger in mapping hardware interrupts to user visible exceptions.
