Overview
During 2012, DDC-I will be is maintaining two baselines with conflicting kernel interfaces. The following are survival notes. The Cygwin installer can be used to get the distribution containing the baseline you want to use.
Elbert Distribution
Verification delivery in 2012.
- kernel: No WAT Support, and soon no MIPS support.
- No 4.6.1 compilers
- BSPs: should all be compatible, although regenerating registries may be necessary in some cases.
Unreleased Distribution
Target for 653 + MIPS support, delivery in 2013.
- kernel: has WAT Support, has MIPS support.
- Has 4.6.1 compilers
BSPs: If the release notes say 653 support has been added, then they can be used.
Registry Regeneration
vmware: Required fit-pc2: Required
Regenerating registries
cd /desk/platform/PlatformName/appbin pi -V -g platreg.s @../etc/platreg.itconf && makereg pi -V -g platregd.s @../etc/platregd.itconf && makereg -d
Then run makeboot as per the platform howto.
The typical failure scenario that indicates that registry regeneration is required is when the network reports:
no interfaces added
