Create STR

Overview
STRs have been replaced with Bugzilla; however if you still desire or need to write an STR, read on.
To report a problem found in non-Deos component, you will need to create a STR. Perform the following steps:
- STRs are stored in a Lotus Notes database. Go find it (PHX2/ddci | Customer Support | STR.nsf)
- You should see a pretty long list of categories(?) along the left side of the screen. Ive been creating STRs in the 'OpenArbor STRs' category. Clicking that will yield a list of the STRs, both open and closed.
- Select the 'new' button at the top of the window -- its located in the same place as 'new mail message' when using the mail database.
- At this point, its probably best to refer to the picture below, as it will be most helpful. Text is entered between the [] delimiters.
* Title * STR Identification: * Origin (if the problem was discovered by DDC-I staff, set this to 'internal') * Customer Problem Identification: * Customer Contact Person: this is you * Customer Contact Email address: this is yours * Customer Program: This is a pick list. Open Arbor is a pretty safe bet * Customer Problem Identification: You invent this. Convention is [initials]_[product]_[3-digit sequence number starting at 001], as in GK_OA_001 * Customer Problem Description: This is where you describe the problem details. You might want to use another editor and paste the result in here. * Impacts on Customer Work: another pick list * Platform Details: * Reported Product: (same as Customer Program above usually) * Component: pick list -- do your best * Version: tied to Lisa build number or David build number * Version Of Component: (replicate Version)
That's it. When committing to CVS, reference the [Customer Problem Identification] in the comments. And don't forget to come back and update the STR with closure status.
