FileSystem project
This project is an investigation of potential File System Team Members (i.e., thrid party file system for use with Deos).
This page tracks activities and progress, and provides links to relevant project information.
As we have discussed in the past few Deos Team meetings, we are investigating potential team members in the file system area particularly for our immediate need of a solution for Surcouf_Program (MDA). While that is the immediate need, we hope to find a team member who can address our file system short comings in a firm fixed way on future customer opportunities. Towards that end, we like you two to spend some time reviewing the design an implementation of the DataLight offering; for starters.
I'd like Richard to focus on the "big picture" items:
- Over-all design
- How easy/hard it would be to port their *existing* design to Deos; Deos653 and/or RTEMS
- How easy/hard it would be to adapt their design to be implemented by a run-time linkable library that executed in the context of the using application(s) address spaces (i.e., little to no IPC)
- Implementation of their *existing* design in source code with an eye towards:
- Maintainability
- Verifiability
I'd like Jerry to focus on the SW/HW interface aspects:
- Understand the design and implementation of the "server" to the "MAL"
- How easy/hard it would be to port their *existing* design to CFFS (i.e., can we just use their MAL technology?)
- Implementation of their *existing* design in source code with an eye towards:
- Maintainability
- Verifiability
The goal is to achive the above in 40 hours or less, per person; over no more than two calendar weeks.
Administrivia
- Use charge code 2110-002-602, Deos Product R&D, FileSys.Recon
